Application of ARMOUR -1 liquid tobacco de-suckericide improves quality, quantity, thickness, length and width of tobacco leaves.
On application of ARMOUR -1 liquid tobacco de-suckericide labour cost decreases and yield of tobacco increases by 25% - 35%
ARMOUR -1 liquid tobacco de-suckericide will not leave any residues on the crop.
Directions to use :
ARMOUR-1 liquid tobacco de-suckericide should be mixed throughly with water at 1:20 ratio.

What is a Tobacco Sucker?
The growing of tobacco involves the breaking off or topping of the flower head when the buds begin to flower. The plant, having been shorn of its reproductive power, attempts to propagate by putting out axillary buds or suckers. Suckers are sprouts or shoots which form at the axis of the main stalk and each tobacco leaf. If not eliminated or controlled, the suckers proliferate and grow thereby draining effective plant nutrients from the tobacco leaves and hindering their growth to optimum size.
In the past, those engaged in tobacco production have removed suckers by hand; however, since there can be as many as 20 suckers per plant and 8,700 plants per acre, this method was found to be far too time consuming and expensive.
What is the active component of ARMOUR-1?
ARMOUR-1 contains Fatty Alchohol - a biodegradable and low-toxicity compound derived from edible oil that provides “contact-kill” action that dries up sucker buds up to 2cm-long upon contact and prevents any suckers from growing in the leaf axils. When applied as directed, ARMOUR-1 will not leave any detectable residue on dried tobacco leaves.
How effective is ARMOUR-1?
A single application of ARMOUR-1, done within 24 hours after topping at the recommended dosage, prevents the growth of suckers and kills all suckers less than 2cm in length. Actual field tests done in 3 tobacco-farming locations in the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra & A.P. show that ARMOUR-1 effectively inhibits sucker growth, thus enhancing the yield of good-quality (high-nicotine) tobacco leaves. ARMOUR-1 does not affect primary leaves, but only newly-formed sucker buds.
What are the advantages of ARMOUR-1?
• Eco-friendly - biodegradable and made from natural coconut oil. Has lower toxicity compared to butralin-based de-suckering products.
• Contains no toxicant - sucker-controlling action is achieved by physically drying-up tender sucker tissue without chemically "poisoning" the plant cells.
• Does not stain hands and has no harsh odor - very convenient to handle and use.
• Locally available - manufactured and distributed by the biggest oleochemical company in
India• Effective - ARMOUR-1 has been proven to be as effective as the commonly-used butralin-based de-suckering agent.
